Building and Designing your Fall Vegetable Garden

This half-day class will start with group discussion around planning your fall garden including site considerations, appropriate plant choices and bed preparation. We will then spend time building a garden bed together and filling it with plants from our greenhouse. Participants will leave with a fall garden starter kit of plants and seeds.

All Things Greenhouse- plant propagation, seed starting and management

In this half day class we will do a deep dive into greenhouse management, growing plants of all kinds from seed and how to propagate plants vegetatively. We will have the opportunity to do some hands on work taking cuttings and divisions of some plants from the gardens as well as doing some seeding. Participants will be able to take home some divisions of their choice.

Botany for Gardeners

In this half-day workshop, we will dive into the basics of plant classification of some of our most commonly used garden plants. With easy to use identification techniques, we will help you understand how to quickly determine plant families. We will break down flower shapes, leaf alignment, and basic botanical terminology. At the end of class we will work on creating beautiful pressed plants for you to take home.
