Preserving your harvest- the basics of canning and drying

In this half day class we will discuss different methods for preserving the summer’s bounty. From pickling, making jam and making sauce and salsa, we will cover all the bases and spend some time working on each one of these projects in small groups. Participants will get a jar of strawberry jam, salsa, green bean pickles and tomato sauce to take home. Refreshments will be provided.

Cooking from the Garden

In this half-day class, we will discuss some of our favorite techniques for adding brightness and seasonality to your cooking using fresh produce from the garden. We will spend time harvesting in our kitchen garden, then will head over to our outdoor kitchen to discuss ways to incorporate these elements into a menu. Lastly, we will chop, cook and eat together. Refreshments will be provided.
