Designing and Growing a Cut-Flower Garden

Saturday June 13 from 3:00 - 6:00PM
In this class we will learn about the process of planning, designing and planting your cut flower garden in the space that you have. We will discuss site selection, different groups of cut flowers, varietal considerations as well as growing conditions for each. Classes will be a combination of hands-on and work and group discussion.

Plant Sale and Open House

Sunday June 14 from 11:00 - 2:00 PM
Come grab yourself some of our incredible stock of plants from natives and grasses to unusual perennials chrysanthemums, garden roses and of course, cut flowers. Meet your neighbors have a stroll around the fields. Registering for the event is required.

Planting Party for Medicine Wheel Garden - Free Event

Sunday June 14 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Join me for an afternoon work party to bless and plant our garden honoring the four directions. The garden is all laid out and ready to go, it just needs you to bring it full circle!! This garden will serve as an important gathering place and grounding space for our farm and all who come to future workshops at Hawk and Lily. I will provide snacks and refreshments and send everyone home with plants and new connections. Cost is by donation. Registering for this event is required.

FAQs

Where will classes be held?

All classes will take place on the farm and will include a combination of lecture and hands-on learning.

Is there a minimum age for classes?

Classes are open to people of all ages, though unless noted, the content will be geared towards adults.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

You must give a two week notice for full refund. Partial refund will be considered upon request.

Where is the farm located?

All classes will meet at our farm site located 20 minutes outside Nevada City. Participants must pre-register for classes after which they will receive the class details and directions to the farm. Parking is limited so please carpool whenever possible.

What do I bring to class?

Please be prepared to be outside. Arrive to class with water bottles, shade hat, lightweight layers for sun protection. Bring a journal and notebook.
